Forgiveness is one of the most distinguishing features of Ramadan. If we truly want Allah's love, mercy and forgiveness, we must remember that the pleasures in this world are transient, and we are working toward that which is permanent. Is it worth being bitter and stunting our growth? Will it really benefit us? Will our anger and bitterness change the person who has hurt us?

Let us use this Ramadan to open our hearts to those who have wronged us and forgive them as we beg Allah to forgive us..

Love a little more than what is necessary..
Work a little harder than what is required..
Be a little kinder than what is usual..
Give a little more than what u feel u can afford..
Stand in a prayer a little longer than what u intended..
Be a little more patient than what u feel u can handle..
It is that little extra effort sparked by sincerity in the heart
that makes your ordinary self extraordinary...

Remember the five simple rules to be happy:

1. Free your heart from hatred.
2. Free your mind from worries.
3. Live simply.
4. Give more.
5. Expect less.

Tips for partners on how to help during labor

Bismillah ir-Rahman ir-Rahim

Labor can at times be very difficult to endure and can cause some women to feel panicked. The following tips are suggestions to help to help the expectant mother through the experience.partner help labor
During labor, keep a close eye on the expectant mother, if you see her having difficult contractions or making a noise and having restless movements – go to her and start breathing with her. This can stop a panic moment coming on.
If she does start to panic with a very painful contraction or because you have left the room and she has become overwhelmed then the following action will help:
  • Stay with her next to the bed
  • touch her by holding her hand or her arm
  • start to breathe with her so that she can follow your lead
  • stay with her to help her come back to herself and if necessary call the nurse for assistance
  • stay calm yourself and do not leave her
Use the following phrases to keep her calm:
  • it won’t be long now
  • just keep going there
  • picture the cervix stretching and opening
  • I love you
  • keep breathing just as we learnt
  • It’s OK, it will be OK, it will be over soon
other ways that you can help include:
  • offering a damp washcloth
  • remind her to urinate
  • offer ice chips for her to suck on
  • rest when she rests
  • rub her back with talc or a oil or just through her nightie or t-shirt
